Pathfinder Village is a year-round, private, residential community licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, the New York State Education Department, and the New York State Health Department. It is licensed for 87 residents for long-term placement, and is governed by a Board of Directors.

Arrange a Tour

One integral part of the admissions process at Pathfinder Village is arranging a tour of the campus. We encourage the family and potential community member to visit our facilities in Edmeston, New York in order to obtain a better insight into the programs and opportunities that the Village provides. Tours should be set up two weeks in advance to allow us the time to make sure that all of our key personnel can be present, when possible, for the tour. Many families are unable to adequately meet the multitude of educational, social and medical needs of a loved one who has Down syndrome. Pathfinder Village offers a focused program of individualized health care, daily school sessions, work opportunities, continuing education programs, spiritual activities, athletics, and recreational programs. Many programs take place outside of the Village, other active programs are offered in our beautiful village and offer peer interaction.

Our goal is to have each resident realize fulfillment, gain in independence, and to experience life to the fullest.
