The Otesaga Hotel Seniors Open and Pro-Am Golf
Tournament is an annual event that starts the Tuesday after
Labor Day at Cooperstown's luxury resort,
The Otesaga Hotel. Played
at the Hotel's renowned Leatherstocking Golf Course, the
four-day event starts with a one-day Pro-Am, in which teams of
four amateurs play 18-holes with a senior golf professional.
The Pro-Am is open to all men and women golfers with
established handicaps.
Following an afternoon on the links, The
Otesaga Hotel hosts an elegant cocktail reception and banquet for
Pro-Am players and tournament supporters. Proceeds from the
golf tournament benefit Pathfinder Village Scholarship Fund
and help provide partial scholarships for village residents.
The Seniors Open also supports the
National Baseball
Hall of Fame Endowment Fund, so that future generations
may experience the rich history of our National Pastime.
The
senior golf pros take to the course over the next three days,
vying for the first-place purse of $20,000. In all,
$100,000 is given out in pro prizes at the Seniors Open,
making it one of the largest non-PGA events in the country. To
inquire about registration for senior pros, please
e-mail The Otesaga Hotel
for or call 607-547-9931.
Even if one does not golf, there are other
ways to become involved in this benefit tournament. Corporate
